Wavelength = 20 cm = 0.2 m

Frequency (f ) = 100 Hz


velocity = frequency x wavelength
= 100 x 0.2
= 20 m/s

Archimedes Principle states that when a body is immersed fully or partially in a fluid , it experiences an upward force which is equal to the weight of fluid displaced by it.

A cork floats on the surface of water because its density is less than the density of water.Thus , the upthrust / buoyant force exerted by the fluid is more than the weight of the cork.Hence it FLOATS.

An iron nail sinks because its density is more than the density of water.Hence , the upthrust / buoyant force exerted by the fluid is less than the weight of the iron nail.Hence it SINKS.

iii)Kapil changed the incandescent bulbs with CFLs because incandescent bulbs consumes lot of energy , whereas , CFLs consume less energy than incandescent bulbs
