As : ABC is a Right Angled Triangle

According to Pythagorean Theorem :

\clubsuit  (Hypotenuse)² = (1st Leg)² + (2nd Leg)²

Here : AC is the Hypotenuse and AB and BC are two legs

⇒ (AC)² = (AB)² + (AC)²

Given : AB = 8 and BC = 6

⇒ (AC)² = 8² + 6²

⇒ (AC)² = (64 + 36) = 100

⇒ AC = 10 cm

We know that : Lengths of Tangents drawn from an External Point to a Circle are Equal

⇒ CD = CF

From the Diagram, We can Notice that : CF = BC - r

⇒ CF = 6 - r

In the Similar way : AD = AE and AE = AB - r

⇒ AE = 8 - r

We can Notice that : AC = AD + CD

But : AD = AE and CD = CF

⇒ AC = AE + CF

⇒ 10 = (8 - r) + (6 - r)

⇒ 10 = 14 - 2r

⇒ 2r = 4

⇒ r = 2cm
