Step-by-step explanation:

LHS

dividing the whole term by cos theta (let theta be α),we get

(a tanα-b)/(a tanα+b) ......1

since tanα=a/b

putting the value of tanα in eq 1,we get

(a×a/b-b)/(a×a/b+b)

(a^2/b-b)/(a^2/b+b)

taking lcm

(a^2-b^2)/b/(a^2+b^2)/b

(a^2-b^2)/(a^2+b^2)=RHS
