Herbivores have longer small intestine than carnivores because herbivores eat plants and plant products which mainly contain cellulose which is harder to digest. On the other hand, flesh is easy to digest by carnivores.
Mucus is secreted along with HCl in the stomach because mucus protects the inner lining of the stomach from Hydrochloric acid.
