As it is isosceles triangle the the perpendicular AD bisect the base so,

BD=DC = 4cm

Area of ∆ABD = 1/2×base×height = 1/2× 4×3=6cm²

Similarly area of ∆ADC = 1/2×4×3= 6cm²

and area of ∆ ABC = 1/2×8×3 = 12cm²
