AE=EC

AE/EC=1 ......(ii)

from equation (i) and (ii)

AD/DB=AE/EC

by Thales theorem

DE || BC

now angle ADE = angle ABC = 72°

and by midpoint theorem

DE=½BC

DE=(½x5.6)cm

DE=2.8cm
