Step-by-step explanation:

equ 1 multiply 3 and mines

15x+3y=2700

_5x+_3y=-2100

==============

10x=600

x=60

x value in the equ (1)

Answer:

(d) 1300

Step-by-step explanation :

let cost of a chair be = x

let cost of a table be = y

According to question ;

3x+y=900 -(eq.1)

5+3y=2100 -(eq.2)

using elimination method :-

multiply equation 1 with 5 and equation 2 with 3

[ 3x + y = 900 ] * 5

[ 5x +3y = 2100 ] * 3

15x +5y = 900

15x +9y = 2100

-      -         -

-----------------------

-4y = -1200

y=300

putting the value of y in equation 1

x = 200

cost of 5 chairs = 5x = 5 *200 = 1000

cost of 1 table = y = 300

adding both values we get 1300 and that is your answer

hope it helps you ...
