Hey mate,
20x2 + -26x + 8 = 0
By using completing the square method:-
Divide both sides by 20:
x^2-(13 x)/10+2/5 = 0
Subtract 2/5 from both sides:
x^2-(13 x)/10 = -2/5
Add 169/400 to both sides:
x^2-(13 x)/10+169/400 = 9/400
Factor the left hand side:
(x-13/20)^2 = 9/400
Take the square root of both sides:
|x-13/20| = 3/20
Eliminate the absolute value:
x-13/20 = -3/20 or x-13/20 = 3/20
Add 13/20 to both sides:
x = 1/2 or x-13/20 = 3/20
Add 13/20 to both sides:
x = 1/2 or x = 4/5 ANSWER...
