Let the number of days of the tour is x days
and amount of the daily expenses is Rs y
So ATQ
x \times y = 4200
If he extends his tour by 3 days
so number of days is (x + 3) days

Now he reduce his daily expenses by Rs 70
So his daily expenses become (y - 70)
ATQ
(x + 3)(y - 70) = 4200 \\ xy - 70x + 3y - 210 = 4200 \\ 4200 - 7x + 3y - 210 = 4200 \\ - 7x + 3y = 210 \\ 3y = 210 + 7x \\ y = \frac{210 + 7x}{3} \\ put \: the \: value \\ x( \frac{210 + 7x}{3} ) = 4200 \\ 210x + 7x {}^{2} = 4200 \times 3 \\ x {}^{2} + 30x - 1800 = 0 \\ x {}^{2} + 60x - 30x - 1800 = 0 \\ x(x + 60) - 30(x + 60) = 0 \\ (x + 60)(x - 30) = 0 \\ x = 30 \: \: and \: - 60 \\ as \: - 60 \: is \: not \: possible \\ so \: x = 30 \\ and \\ y = \frac{4200}{30} \\ y = 140
So number of days are 30 days
