From figure:

Two tangents PA and PB are drawn to the circle from P.

(i)

OA is perpendicular to PA and OB is perpendicular to PB.

So, ∠OAP = 90 and ∠OBP = 90.


(ii)

From quadrilateral OAPB.

We know that sum of angles of a quadrilateral = 360°.

⇒ ∠OAP + ∠APB + ∠PBO + ∠BOA = 360

⇒ 90 + ∠APB + 90 + ∠BOA = 360

⇒ ∠APB + ∠BOA = 180.


Hence proved!
