Hello there,

As we know :

Acceleration = Velocity / time

u = 0 m/s

Left side of graph is acceleration.

Right side of graph is retardation.

Middle side of the graph, acceleration is 0 m/s².

S = ut + ½at² = ½at² (Since u = 0)

(i) Left side.

Acceleration = 4/4 = 1 m/s²

(ii) Right side.

Retardation = 4/4 = 1 m/s²

(iii) S = (½)(1)(4)² = ½(16) = 8m

Hence distance = 8m.

Hope you find my answer useful.

Harith

GeniusYH: I wrote it wrong the third one.
GeniusYH: distance = area of the left triangl
GeniusYH: ½bh = ½(4)(4) = 8 m
GeniusYH: It's an another way
