54 + b = 180

b = 180_ 54

b = 126

a is a opposite of 54

(ii) = a+82= 180

a = 180_ 82

a = 98

b is a opposite of 82

b= 82

●For figure (a)

➡️Vertically opposite angles are equal.

So applying this logic, we can say that angle a is equal to angle CaA.

So, angle a = 54°✔

➡️Now, sum of angle a and angle b will be 180° because they lie on a straight line and are linear (supplementary angles)

So,

b + a = 180°

b + 54° = 180°

b = 126°

So, angle b = 126°✔

●For figure (b)

➡️Similarly as applied in the previous sum, vertically opposite angles are equal so,

angle b = 82°

Now, again angle a + angle b = 180° (supplementary angles)

So,

a + 82° = 180°

a = 98°

So, angle a = 98°✔
