His total study time is 2.5 hrs = 5/2 hrs
In this , he uses 0.25 of his study time for his friend.
So we must calculate the amount of time he spent for his friend.
So we have 0.25 * 2.5 hrs , which is spent for the friend.
as 0.25 * 2.5 hrs = 0.625 hrs
Clearly 0.625 hrs = 0.625 * 60 min
So 37.5 minutes or 37 minutes , 30 seconds are spent on the friend.
Hence 37 min 30 sec.
