Let the fraction be x/y
Therefore , x+1/ y-1 = 1 ( cross multiply )
x + 1 = y-1
x - y = -2 ------ (1)
x / y+1 = 1/2 ( cross multiply )
2x = y+1
2x - y = 1 ------- (2)
By elimination method :
x - y = -2
2x - y = 1
(-) (+) (-)
--------------
-x = -3
Therefore x = 3
Substitute the value of x either In (1) or (2) equation .
