To do so follow these steps

1. Draw a line of 8cm.

2. Take your compass with the pencil attached and place the sharp poin on any one end of the line-mark the point as A

3.Now with the sharp point on A extend the lenght of your compass approximately bigger than the half(Do not measure using scale).

4.No draw arcs on the top and bottom of the line better make the arcs big in lenght.

5. With the same measurment place the compass on the other point say point B.

6. repete step 4 from point B

7. You will notice that the arcs intersect or touch each other(If not then adjust the arcs by increasing thire lenght from the corresponding lines)

8.Join the intersected points with each other(Top-Bottom)

9. Now the point which the line intersects the 8cm Line is the median.

10. Hence you have succesfully Bisected your line!
