Time taken = 2.5 s

Change in momentum = Final momentum - initial momentum

Initial momentum = \(0.002 \times 4 = 0.008\) kg m/s

Final momentum = 0 kg m/s


Force = \(\frac{0.008}{2.5}\)N

Force = 0.0032 N

The average force acting on the balloon is 0.0032 N.

Option (2) is correct.
