Cell wall: It is the outermost layer in plant cell and absent in animal cell.

                It is made up of cellulose (carbohydrates)

               It is tough and gives rigidicity and mechanical strength to the plant.

               Because it is tough it can prevent excess swelling of the cell when absorbs water.

Adjacent cells in plant are connected through long tube like structure called plasmodesmata, which can penctrate through cell walls.
