GIVEN:

 \rm \bull A \: 40μF \: capacitor \: is \: connected \: to

 \rm a \: 200V,50Hz \: ac \: supply.

FIND:

 \rm \bull The  \: rms \:  value  \: of  \: current \: in \: the \: circuit = ?

SOLUTION:

 \rm\to{I}_{rmc} = \frac{{V}_{rmc}}{{X}_{C}}

 \rm\to{X}_{C} =  \frac{1}{wc}

 \rm\to{X}_{C} =  \frac{1}{2 \pi f+ c}  \:  \: (∵w = 2 \pi f)

 \rm\to{X}_{C} =  \frac{1}{2  \times 3.14 \times 50 \times 40 \times  {10}^{ - 6} }

 \rm\to{X}_{C} =  79.577

 \rm\to{I}_{rmc} = \frac{200}{79.577} = 2.51A

Hence, option (c) 2.51A is correct answer.
