initial velocity of ball 1(u1) = 20 m/s

initial velocity of ball 2(u2)= 0 m/s(ball is at rest)

final velocity of ball 2 (v2) = 5 m/s

TO FIND - final velocity of ball 1.(v1)

We know that -

m1u1 + m2u2 = m1v1 + m2v2 (law of conservation of momentum)

putting the values-

5x20 + 10x0 = 5xv1 + 10x5

100+0=5xv1 + 50

100-50=5xv1

50=5xv1

50/5=v1

10 = v1

hence final velocity of ball one is 10m/s
