Total cost of refrigerator = Rs.5000

The money shyam paid in cash when he bought the refrigerator = (1/10) of5000

=

$\frac{1}{10} \times 5000 \\ = 500$

=Rs 500

So The leftover money he had to pay=5000-500= Rs.4500

Given. Shyam paid the rest of the money in 12 equal monthly installments.

Let x be the money he paid back each month.

Then. Acc. to the question.

12(x) = 4500

-> x =4500/12

-> x= 2250/6

->x = 1125/3

->x= 375

Hence; Shyam had to pay back 375 Rupees per month as monthly installment.

i am answering this because i think the other answers that you got earlier were wrong.

fraction of Amount the man speant on food. = 2/5

So ;the Remaining fraction of money he has= 3/5.

As per question. the man spent 3/10 of his remaining money...

i.e.

$\frac{3}{10} of( \frac{3}{5} )$

=

$\frac{3}{10} ( \frac{3}{5} ) \\ = \frac{9}{50}$

Hence . (9/50 )TH fraction of the money is still left with him.
