1. A mineral acid is defined as a water-soluble acid derived from inorganic minerals by chemical reaction as opposed to organic acids. All mineral acids form hydrogen ions and the conjugate base when dissolved in water. Eg:- Boric acid,Sulphuric acid, Hydrochloric Acid and Nitric acid

2. Alkalis are bases which are completely soluble in water.  It is a compound with particular chemical properties including turning litmus blue and neutralizing or effervescing with acids; typically, a caustic or corrosive substance of this kind such as lime or soda.

 

Sodium oxide and potassium oxide are alkalis that dissolve in water to form soluble bases sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide respectively.

3.Those substances which give different colour indifferent medium and thus indicate the presence of acid or base in a solution are called indicators.

Natural indicators : Turmeric, beetroot.

Synthetic indicators : Phenolphthalein and Methyl orange
