Answer:

2.5y+67.8 = 0.5y-22

2.5y-0.5y = -22-67.8

2y = -89.8

y = -44.9

Give some good response se I have solved on time....

Answer- The above question is from the chapter 'Linear Equation in One Variable'.

Linear Equation in One Variable: An equation containing one variable with degree one is called linear equation in one variable.

Examples:

1) 2x + 3 = 0

2) 4z - 5 = 1

3) 2k + 2 = 4

Given question: Solve for y- 2.5y + 67.8 = 0.5y - 22.

Solution: Given equation is 2.5y + 67.8 = 0.5y - 22.

To solve for y means we need to find the value of y which is the required value to satisfy the equation.

Transposing 0.5y to LHS and 67.8 to RHS, we get,

2.5y - 0.5y = - 22 - 67.8

2y = - 89.8

Dividing by 2 both sides, we get,

y = - 44.9

∴ y = - 44.9 is the required solution to the above equation.
