Step-by-step explanation:

(x -  \frac{1}{x} ) ^{2}  = 3

 {x}^{2}  - 2 +  \frac{1}{x ^{2} }  = 3

 {x}^{2}   +  \frac{1}{x}  ^{2}  = 3 + 2

 {x}^{2}  +  \frac{1}{x ^{2} }  = 5

I ain't sure but if it is wrong you please report it:)

Answer:

X=-1

Step-by-step explanation:

(x -  \frac{1}{x} ) = 3 \\ 2x - 1 = 3x \\  - 1 = 3x - 2x \\  - 1 = 1x \\ x =  - 1
