24% of x = 12 % of y

=> 2 % of x = 1% of y   => Equation 1

=> 9% of x = ? % of y

2 : 1 = 9 : a

Product of Means = Product of Extremes

=> 2 × a = 9 × 1

=> a = 9 / 2 = 4.5

Hence 9% of x = 4.5% of y.

Hence option ( 4 ) is correct.
