Answer:

Equation = (x + y)² - 3(x + y) + 2 = 0

Let (x + y) be A

∴ Equation will be (A² - 3A + 2) = 0

= (A² - 3A + 2) = 0

= (A² - 2A - 1A + 2) = 0

= A(A - 2) -1(A - 2) = 0

= (A - 1)(A - 2) = 0

But A = x + y

∴ (x + y -1)(x + y -2) = 0 are factors of (x + y)² - 3(x + y) + 2 = 0

(x + y -1)(x + y -2) = 0 ⇒ ANSWER

Step-by-step explanation:

(x + y)^2 - 3x - 3y + 2

(x + y)(x + y) - 3x - 3y + 2

Hope it helps u mate....I think this is the answer.
