Given-->
height of cylinder ,H= 1.5 cm
diameter of cylinder= 7 cm
radius of conical holes,r= 3 cm
height of conical holes,h=4 cm
so,
radius of cylinder,R=7/2=3.5

lateral height of the cones = ✓(height)^2+. (radius)^2
l=✓h^2+r^2
l=✓(4)^2+(3)^2
l=✓16+9
l=✓25
l=5 cm

surface area of remaining solid =C.S.A of cylinder+ 2×C.S.A of conlcal hole
=2πRH+2(πrl)
=2π(RH+rl)
=2×22/7(7/2×15/10+3×25)
=44/7(7/2×3/2+75)
=44/7(21/4+75)
=44/7((21+300)/4)
=44/7×96
=603.42857143
=603.43 cm^2. (approximately)

neeraj0910: sorry ans is wrong
neeraj0910: check q again...radius of cone is small than cylinder...so there will be some space left
