Start solving using elimination method

multiplying the Ist equ. by 2 to have same x term to terminate

We get

2x+2y - 14

2x-3y - 9

Now by changing the sign of the 2nd equ.

we get , 5y - 5

So -

y - 1

Put the value in Ist equ.

You will get ,

2x+2*(1)- 14

then,

2x- 12

so x - 6

That's how you can solve any question similar to this one

Hope it will help you

Answer:

x=6\\y=1

Step-by-step explanation:

The first equation is:

x+y=7

Taking y to the other side,

x=7-y. This is your Equation 1.

The Equation 2 is:

2x-3y=9

Now you have to substitute the value of x from Eqn 1, in Eqn 2. In other words, you have to substitute Equation 1 into Equation 2:

2\left(7-y\right)-3y=9

Solving it further,

2\times7-2\times y-3y=9\\14-2y-3y=9\\14-5y=9\\-5y=9-14\\-5y=-5\\

And finally,

y=1

Now substitute value of y in Equation 1:

x+1=7

And finally,

x=6

The result is:

x=6\\y=1
