Using pythagoras theorem:

H² = P² + B²

(distance of rod against wall)² = (top of rod reach the wall)² + (distance from foot)²

(5)² = (top of rod reach the wall)² + (3)²

25 = (top of rod reach the wall )² + 9

(top of rod reach the wall)² = 25 - 9

(top of rod reach the wall)² = 16

(top of rod reach the wall) = √16

top of rod reach the wall = 4 cm

(you can also write H,P, B in place of this long sentence )

The distance from top where the rod reach is 4 cm

4) Sum of angle of triangle = 180°

∠P + ∠Q + ∠R = 180°

(2x + 2)° + x° + (2x - 7)° = 180°

5x° - 5° = 180°

5x° = 180° + 5°

5x° = 185°

x° = 185°/5

x° = 37°

Now, ∠P = (2x + 2)°

 = (2(37) + 2)°

 = (74 + 2)°

= 76°

∠Q° = x° = 37°

∠R° = (2x - 7)°

= (2(37) - 7)°

= (74 - 7)°

= 67°
