After that for diving 40 we have to double the quotient that is 4 and next to that 4 we have to add a suitable number for which 40 will be divided. So if we use 1 next to 4 then it will be 41. If we multiply 41 with that 1 then we get 41 right. Which we cannot use. So insted of 1 we use 0 then 40x0 will be 0
