Answer:

We can get the respective ratios as follows :

First vessel :

Milk : Water = 24/6 = 4/1

= 4 : 1

Second vessel :

Milk to water = 15/10 = 3/2

= 3 : 2

Now let the amount of the first mixture be x and the second mixture be y

From first vessel,

Milk = 4/5x

Water = 1/5 x

Second vessel .

Milk = 3/5y

water = 2/5y

The total milk from the two vessels = 4/5x + 3/5y = 25

Total water from the two vessels = 1/5x + 2/5y = 10

Solving this simultaneously:

Multiply through by 5 to get:

4x + 3y = 125...................1)

x + 2y = 50......................2)

We eliminate y by multiplying equation 1 by 2 and equation 2 by 3 then subtracting .

We have :

8x + 6y = 250

3x + 6y = 150

Subtracting:

5x = 100

x = 20

Substitute this in eqn 2 :

20 + 2y = 50

2y = 30

y = 15

Therefore :

We should take :

20 liters from the first vessel and 15 liters from the second vessel.
