According to the latest media reports, the MPBSE decided to remove vocational subjects such as Dairy Science, Photography and Fashion Designing along with several other vocational subjects in its recent decision.  MP Board Syllabus Reduction: The Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) officially removed 21 Vocational Subjects from the list of subjects that are available to students recently. According to the latest media reports, the MPBSE decided to remove vocational subjects such as Dairy Science, Photography and Fashion Designing along with several other vocational subjects in its recent decision. The reports also suggest that MPBSE took the decision due to the unavailability of teachers and instructors to teach these subjects. In order to confirm the decision, MP Board issued a formal notification, which states that as part of the rationalization of the syllabus for Class 9 to 12 students; the board plans to make some major changes to the list of subjects available to the students.

The Board also announced that, for the 2020-21 academic session, the Board will not conduct vocational exams for 21 subjects for Class 11 students. It also said that these will not be available for MP Board 12th Board Exams 2021. According to the official notification, MP Board removed the following vocational subjects from its official syllabus for Class 11 and 12 students:

  • Agriculture Business Management
  • Poultry Farming
  • Office Management
  • Dairy Farming
  • Photography
  • Welding Technology & Fabrication
  • Hospital Housekeeping
  • Leather Technology
  • Textile Design
  • Wood Goods Making and Carving
  • X-Ray Technician

  • Marketing and Salesmanship
  • Co-operative Management
  • Farm Mechanics
  • Printing & Binding
  • Fruits and Vegetable Preservation
  • Bakery
  • Building Construction
  • Moped, Scooter and Motorcycle Repair

Meanwhile, many education experts are surprised to see the removal of 21 subjects for Class 11 and 12 students from Madhya Pradesh as the new National Education Policy 2020 has given a major push to skill development. Vocational Subjects are regarded as the perfect tools to help students develop the necessary basic skills and to make them employable quickly because of their nature. However, the state board decided to remove 21 vocational subjects for Class 11 and 12 students recently, despite the emphasis laid on them in the new Education Policy.
