In India ,The day december 22nd has been declred as the National Mathematics Day.
The Indian mathematical genius Srinivasa Ramanujan was born on 22nd december 1887 and died on 26th april 1920.It was in recognition of his contribution to mathematics the Government of India decided to celebrate Ramanujan's birthday as the National Mathematics Day every year and to celebrate 2012 as the National Mathematical year.
This announcement came on 125th birthyear of one of india's greatest Mathematician,Srinivasa Ramanujan Aiyenger.
There is biography named the man who knew infinity about the circumstances of his life in Kumbakonam,where he grew up .
Mathematic is seen by many as rather a dull and a boring subject,one which apparently is not at all related to the day to day activities.But this far from truth.mathematics has a unique beauty and is the purest form of truth.if studied the proper way it can be quite benificial to everyone.Not only does it increase ones analytical skills but it also has immense applications in almost all activities that we do in our daily lives.For instance,a branch of mathematics calld cryptography is widely used in handling all online communications.Transferring money online or withdrawing from an ATM,involves sophisticated mathematics.By devoting a day to mathematics,we can go a long way in bridging this gap of understanding and applying mathematics.
