Answer:

Error in the question :- There should be 3 times of cost price rather than selling price

Correct question :- A radio when sold at a certain price gives a gain of 20 %. What will be the gain percent, if it were to be sold for thrice

the cost price?

GIVEN :-

A radio when sold at a certain price gives a gain of 20 %.

Selling Price = 3 × Cost Price

TO FIND :- Gain percent

SOLUTION :-

\begin{gathered}gain\% = \frac{gain}{cp} \times 100 \\ \\ \\ \implies 20 = \frac{gain \times 100}{cp} \\ \\ \\ \implies \frac{gain}{cp} = \frac{20}{100} = \frac{1}{5}\end{gathered}gain%=cpgain×100⟹20=cpgain×100⟹cpgain=10020=51

Gain = Sp - Cp

=> Gain = 3CP - CP

=> Gain = 2CP

\begin{gathered}gain\% = \frac{gain}{cp} \times 100 \\ \\ \\ = \frac{2cp}{cp} \times 100 \\ \\ = 2 \times 100 \\ \\ = 200\%\end{gathered}gain%=cpgain×100=cp2cp×100=2×100=200%

Hence answer is 200%.
