Answer:

Given : In ∆ ABC, angle ABC =90°

To Prove : AC^2=AB^2 + BC^2

Construction : Draw perpendicular seh BD on side AC. -------------------(A-D-C.)

Proof : In right angled ∆ABC , seg BD perpendicular to hypt.AC.-------–-----(construction)

Therefore, ∆ABC ~ ∆ADB ~ ∆BDC--------------(similarity of right angled triangles)

∆ABC ~ ∆ADB

AB/AD = BC/DB = AC/AB ------------ corresponding sides

AB/AD = AC/AB

AB^2 = AD × AC ------------------(1)

Similarly, ∆ABC ~ ∆BDC

AB/BC = BC/DC = AC/BC --------- corresponding sides

BC^2 = DC × AC -----------------(2)

Adding (1) and (2),

AB^2 + BC^2 = AD × AC + DC × AC

= AC ( AD + DC )

= AC × AC -----------------( A- D- C)

Therefore, AB^2 + BC^2 = AC^2

Therefore, AC^2 = AB^2 + BC^2

I hope it will help u☺️
