Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

[(1-2x)/7] - [(2-3x)/8] = (3/2) + (x/4)

To find :-

Solve the equation ?

Solution :-

Given equation is [(1-2x)/7] - [(2-3x)/8] = (3/2) + (x/4)

LCM of 7 and 8 = 56

LCM of 2 and 4 = 4

=> [8(1-2x)-7(2-3x)]/56 = [(2×3)+(1×x)]/4

=> [(8-16x)-(14-21x)]/56 = (6+x)/4

=> (8-16x-14+21x)/56 = (6+x)/4

=> (5x-6)/56 = (6+x)/4

On applying cross multiplication then

=> 56(6+x) = 4(5x-6)

=> 336+56x = 20x-24

=> 56x-20x = -24-336

=> 36x = -360

=> x = -360/36

=> x = -10

Therefore, x = -10

Answer:-

The solution for the given problem is -10

Check:-

If x = -10 then LHS of the given equation is

[(1-2x)/7] - [(2-3x)/8]

=> [(1-2×-10)/7] - [ (2-3×-10)/8]

=> [(1+20)/7] - [(2+30)/8]

=> (21/7)-(32/8)

=> 3-4

=> -1

and

RHS = (3/2) + (x/4)

=> (3/2)+(-10/4)

=> (3/2)+(-5/2)

=> (3-5)/2

=> -2/2

=> -1

LHS = RHS is true for x = -10
