Answer:

Length of rectangular floor = 3.6 m (360 cm)

Breadth of rectangular floor = 2.4 m (240 cm)

Length of one square tile = 20 cm

= 360 × 240

= 86400 cm² is the area of floor

= 20 × 20

= 400 cm² is the area of one tile

Tiles required = Area of floor/Area of 1 tile

= 86400/400

= 216

therefore, 216 tiles are required.

Answer:

area of rectangle floor = length × breadth

= 3.6×2.4

= 8.64 m^2

= 86400cm^2

area of square tile = 20 ×20 = 400cm^2

no of square tiles is required

to cover the rectangle floor = 84600/400 = 216

216 square tiles is required to cover the rectangle floor
