Explanation:

● The rule of a King is called Raj.

● As the Britishers entered the Subcontinent this Raj slowly ended.

● They took in many princes and smaller maharajah's under their wings by buying their lands.

● This colonial system had great impact on such royals and made them slaves of the English men

● Since independence in 1948 what was left of such states was ultimately finished.

● Now rejuvenation this Raj is not possible since India is a democratic country and freedom of expression is everything now a days!

Rejuvenation the Raj

The history of village level Panchayat Raj Institutions (PRIs) in India

goes back to hundreds of years. A feature of these institutions was that

they were largely self- governing although their social background was

characterized by a rigid social structure (Chandrashekhar, 2000:3). There

is evidence of the existence of self-governing village communities in

Rigveda, approximately 1200 B.C. (ISS, 1995). There is also evidence

of the existence of village sabhas (councils or assemblies) and gramins

(senior persons of the village) who would contact higher authorities on

matters affecting the villages until about 600 B.C. (ibid:1). In course of

time, these village bodies became panchayats, an assembly of five

members, with both police and judicial powers.
