Step-by-step explanation:

2. (i) \:  \frac{1}{2} \: and \:  \frac{2}{3}  \\  LCM \: of \: 2 \: and \: 3 = 2 \times 3 = 6 \\  \frac{1}{2}  =  \frac{1 \times 3}{2 \times 3}  =  \frac{3}{6}  \\  \frac{2}{3}  =  \frac{2 \times 2}{3 \times 2}  =  \frac{4}{6}  \\  \\ (ii) \frac{4}{5} and \:  \frac{5}{6}  \\ LCM \: of \: 5 \: and \: 6 = 5 \times 6 = 30 \\  \frac{4}{5}  =  \frac{4 \times 6}{5 \times 6}  =  \frac{24}{30}  \\  \frac{5}{6}  =  \frac{5 \times 5}{6 \times 5}  =  \frac{25}{30}  \\  \\ (iii) \:  \frac{7}{8} and \:  \frac{3}{4}  \\ LCM \: of \: 8 \: and \: 4 = 8 \\  \frac{7}{8}  =  \frac{7 \times 1}{8 \times 1}  =  \frac{7}{8}  \\  \frac{3}{4}  =  \frac{3 \times 2}{4 \times 2}  =  \frac{6}{8}

Answer:

The answers are - (i) 3/6 , 5/6 (ii) 24/30 , 25/30 (iii) 7/8 , 6/8

Step-by-step explanation:

(i) 1/2 , 2/3

Since , L.C.M of 2 and 3 is 6

Therefore , we need to make the denominators 6

= 1*3/2*3 , 2*2/3*2

= 3/6 , 4/6

(ii) 4/5 , 5/6

Since , L.C.M of 5 and 6 is 30

Therefore , we need to make the denominators 30

= 4*6/5*6 , 5*5/6*5

= 24/30 , 25/30

(iii) 7/8 , 3/4

Since , L.C.M of 8 and 4 is 8

Therefore , we need to make the denominators 8

= 7*1/8*1 , 3*2/4*2

= 7/8 , 6/8

There is a rule that we have to multiply the numerator with the same number from which we have multiplied denominator and vice versa. Therefore , the above process is also valid for making the numerators same.

Hopefully it helped you out buddy !!
