Indus valley civilization is also known as harappan civilization. The civilization was first identified at Harappa in the Punjab region and then at Mohenjo-daro (Mohenjodaro), near the Indus River in the Sindh  regions. The ruins of Mohenjo-daro were also designated a UNESCO World Heritage site.
