Explanation:

i.

p(x) = (x + 1)(x - 2)

If x = -1,

p( - 1) = ( - 1 + 1)( - 1 - 2) = 0( - 3) = 0

If x = 2,

p(2) = (2 + 1)(2 - 2) = (3)0 = 0

Since the answer in both cases is 0, x = -1 and 2 are the zeroes of the polynomial.

ii.

p(x) = x {}^{2}

If x = 0,

p(0) = 0 {}^{2}  = 0

Since the answer is 0, x = 0 is the zero for the polynomial.
