An = -150

a = 17

d = 12 - 17 = --5

An = a + (n-1)d

-150 = 17 + (n-1) -5

-133 = (n-1) -5

 \frac{133}{5}  = n - 1 \\  \frac{133}{5}  + 1 = n

No, -- 150 is not a term in this AP

______________________________

a = 4

d = 9 - 4 = 5

An = 109

An = a + (n-1)d

109 = 4 +(n-1) 5

105 = (n-1) 5

105/5 = n-1

21 + 1 = n

n=22

Hence,the 22nd term is 109
