Answer:

The Internet has become a part of our daily life. Life has become easy due to the internet, in the history of mankind; the internet has remarkably grown with the development of technology. It connects people with the entire world. For example; you read newsletter or headlines of any country, connect with your friends or loved ones in the other parts of the world, explore nature or know about other countries, and even read books online. Now-a-days, even lectures are given online through the internet, you can comfortably sit at home and gain knowledge without physically going anywhere.

The Internet is a convenient way to hold tones of information and data in less space. One can quickly research on the internet without going through a library of books. Gone are days, when you had to dig into piles of books for making projects which would take a long time and effort, now doing research is just a click away.

That being said, do not forget that; there are two sides of the same coin. The Internet may have a lot of advantages, but there are many shortcomings or disadvantages too. Spending too much time on the internet, will make the person lazy, there will not be any physical activity which will have a bad effect on their body. They will not be able to concentrate on a particular topic. For example, kids will explore other sites instead of focusing on studies. Too much exposure to screen will affect their eyes. With online lectures, they will only gain theoretical knowledge and will remain isolated from the practical world and will not have ethical values. They will not be able to make relation with other people, as they are bound to their habit of staying in isolation with the computer. They can fall prey to adult stuff or porn videos. Internet has slowly moved people away from the culture of reading books. They cannot concentrate and read an entire book or article, as they are less patient and gets bored quickly.

The Internet may be a blessing in many ways, but it cannot give you the pleasure of reading books. It can entertain you, but the joy, warmth and personal experience that one gets by reading good books are incomparable. The writer may use a word processor to write books or use the internet to do his research, but his end product would be a physical book. No matter how the technology changes, a book is a book and one who loves reading a book, no internet can take it away. Therefore, in my opinion the Internet cannot replace books.
