Answer :

2000N/m

Explanation :

Force exerted by stone = 500N

Area occupied by stone = 25cm = 0.25m

Pressure exerted by stone =  \frac{Force}{Area}  = \frac{500N}{0.25m}  =  \frac{50000N}{25m} = 2000N/m

______________________

Given :-

  • Force = 500 N
  • Area = 25 cm²

______________________

We need to find :-

  • Pressure exerted = ?

______________________

Solution :-

As we know that

P = F/A

Where ,

  • P → Pressure = ?
  • F → Force = 500 N
  • A → Area = 25 cm² = 0.0025

Substituting the values we have ,

⇒ P = 500 ÷ 0.0025

P = 200000 pa

Hence , pressure exerted = 200000 pascal
