Distance - It is the scalare quantity. The distance is the total path cover es by the object from one point to another . The distance travelled by a moving object cannot be 0 but final displacement of a moving object can be 0.
Displacement - It is a vector quantity .It is the shortest distance measured from the initial poisition of an object . If we take a round trip and reached back at the starting point then , though we have travelled some distance our final displacement will 0 . This is because the straight line distance between the initial and final will be 0 .
