= \frac{53}{9} - (\frac{3}{6} - \frac{1}{6})

= \frac{53}{9} - \frac{2}{6}

= \frac{53 X 2}{9 X 2} - \frac{2 X 3}{6 X 3}

= \frac{106}{18} - \frac{6}{18}

= \frac{100}{18}
