p(x) = 2 {x}^{2} - 3x + 5 \\ p( - 5) = 2( { - 5)}^{2} - 3( - 5) + 5 \\ = 2(25) + 15 + 5 \\ = 50 + 15 + 5 = 70 \\ p(6) = 2( {6)}^{2} - 3(6) + 5 \\ = 2 \times 36 - 18 + 5 \\ = 72 - 13 \\ = 59 \\ p( \frac{1}{4} ) = 2( { \frac{1}{4} )}^{2} - 3( \frac{1}{4} ) + 5 \\ = \frac{2}{16} - \frac{3}{4} + 5 \\ = \frac{1}{8} - \frac{3}{4} + 5 \\ = \frac{1 - 6 + 40}{8} \\ = \frac{35}{8} \\ p( - 5) + p(6) - p( \frac{1}{4} ) = 70 + 59 - \frac{35}{8} \\ = \frac{560 + 472 - 35}{8} \\ = \frac{997}{8} \: \: \: or \\ = 124.63
