1. The nutrient found insufficient is Nitrogen.

2. Peas are leguminous plants . They fix atmospheric nitrogen and make it available in the soil. Thus help in nitrogen replenishment.

Answer: The nutrient found insufficient is nitrogenous compounds.

Pea plant is a leguminous plant. So nitrogen fixing bacteria (like Rhizobium) lives in the root nodules of pea plant in symbiotic relationship. Hence nitrogenous compounds will increase in the soil and thus the fertility of the soil will increase.
