Here, a = 55°

b = x

c = 90°

So, a + b + c = 180° [ by angle sum property of ∆ ]

= 55° + 90° + x = 180° => 145° + x = 180°

= x = 180 ° - 145°

Hence, x = 35°

Now, x + y = 180° [ as they lie on straight line ]

= 35°+ y = 180° => y = 180° - 35°

Hence, y = 145°
