Let base angles be x as they are same

40+x+x = 180° ( ASP OF TRIANGLE)

2x = 140

x = 70°

THE BASE ANGLES ARE 70°

Hey there mate here is your answer

Given base angles of isosceles triangle are equal and vertex angle is 40

So,

Let the base angles be x, x

x + x + 40 = 180

   2x + 40 = 180

            2x = 180 - 40

            2x = 140

               x = 70

∴  Base angles = 70, 70
