please tell me the difference between two figures that is figure a and figure b

In figure a Denser is at the bottom and in figure b the denser is in the middle

⏪ Medium 1 ( Medium 1 is that optical medium through which incident ray travel ) is Rarer while Medium 2 is Denser. So, the light ray will bends towards the normal while moving from medium 1 to medium 2.

⏪ In Fig B )
Medium 1 means the medium through which ray of light is incident, is Denser while the medium 2 is Rarer. Now, light ray will move away from Normal as the velocity of ray of light increases when it travels from medium 1 to medium 2.
